The Roman Catholic Salvation Plan

The Roman Catholic Salvation Plan

Dear Catholic friends…the Roman Catholic Church says it is impossible to know for sure if you will go to Heaven when you die. But that is not what the Bible actually says. It says you can know NOW that you WILL go to Heaven the second you die. Wouldn’t you like to know if you were truly saved, once and for all? You can be truly saved today by trusting in Jesus by grace thru faith like the Bible says or you can continue to jump through all the following hoops below never knowing if you have done enough works to get saved. Please take a look at the Roman Catholic Salvation Plan below and see if you really need to do all of that? Did God REALLY make Salvation that complicated?

The truth is that God doesn’t make Salvation hard, but man does. Man likes to add all kinds of traditions and rituals to the Salvation process when they really do not belong there. Men do this because they are prideful and wanting to have a hand at their Salvation. This is wrong and runs counter to the truth that the Lord became a man and came down from Heaven so He could pay the penalty of sin that we could never pay ourselves.

To suggest that the Lord was not able to pay for all of the sin debt by His work on the Cross and that we need to help Him do that is a grave mistake in itself. I think God, the final judge, can rightfully tell us what it takes to be saved. And since He makes the final decision, we should let Him tell us the answer.

So, what does it take to be saved? Since the Bible is the Word of God, we can let it tell us.

The Bible says:

John 6:28-29 – Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

John 6:38-40 – “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Many people caught up in the Roman Catholic Church will have been told, in error, that works are required to be saved. To understand the verses in the Bible that do mention works, we need to understand the true Salvation process in context. There is a two-sided nature of our relationship with the Lord. They are Justification (or Salvation) and Sanctification (the ongoing life-long process of being conformed into what we will be on the day of redemption).

Justification is the one moment in time event whereby a person trusts and believes in Jesus and His completed work on the Cross (death, burial, and resurrection) and is saved for once and all. Never to be revoked or lost.

Sanctification is the life-long ongoing process in which we do good works that are pleasing to God in appreciation for what He has done for us. We don’t do these works to earn or keep Salvation.

You can read the following in-depth article that explains Justification and Sanctification in detail so that you can see where you may have been misled, probably unintentionally by good meaning people, when it comes to what is required for Salvation – https://www.raptureforums.com/once-saved-always-saved/osas-the-whole-story/

If we do not take the Bible’s Salvation verses in context, we can caught up in the “works-based salvation” plan of the Roman Catholic Church that does not save. But rather leads an individual on to the “wide path of destruction” where someone places their Salvation in their own hands, rather than into the hands of the Lord.

Please, do not make that mistake. Catholic lives and souls are precious. We want all Catholics to be saved and being saved the biblical way is the only way to go.

Many of our friends and family are Catholics. We love them and want to see them in Heaven. Please place your faith and trust in Jesus, not your church membership or good works. The Bible says that none of us are good, no not one:

Romans 3:10-12 – “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”

Do yourself a favor and avoid the physical and spiritual bondage of Rome by making a decision for Christ and the Salvation plan He has for you by grace thru faith. Wouldn’t it be easier to just trust Jesus like the Bible says? Let John 3:16 be your guide!
